Ontario Real Estate Sales Slow

Ontario’s real estate market continues to remind us just how local property trends can be. In late Q3, we saw 1,100 home sales across the province, though the pace has eased and prices are moving differently from one area to the next. For example, one county recorded 138 sales at an average price around $516,000, with 442 new listings and 979 active listings in the period. Another area remained steady with 118 sales, though the average price adjusted to about $635,000, and properties were taking roughly 60 days to sell. Meanwhile, a third county, with just 31 sales, saw prices climb to an average of $857,000—up nearly 27% month-over-month and 8% year-over-year.

With over 20 years of local knowledge and a background in both real estate and mortgage strategy, I’ve seen firsthand how understanding these micro-markets can shape your buying or selling experience. As municipal elections keep housing issues in focus, it’s more important than ever to have guidance that’s tailored to your specific neighbourhood and goals.
